Ok, so, do you remember when my sister first got us Elfy, and I was a bit freaked out by him?
Yea, well, I’m not anymore.
In fact, Elfy has been an awesome tradition in our family!
He made his appearance this past Thanksgiving morning while we were in Chicago! Yep, that’s right, he followed us there! Look how he greeted Punky that morning…or, rather, he was quite a bit busy having a snowball fight with some snowmen, I’m not sure he even saw Punky find him!
Anyway, Elfy brought breakfast from the North Pole, too. (Powdered sugar donuts, hot chocolate with LOTS of marshmallows, and candy canes!) Along with a letter detailing how much Elfy has enjoyed watching Punky over the past year at T-ball, School, and how much fun Punky seemed to be having at Disneyland this summer. Of course, the letter also pointed out a few things Punky can work on…
And, Elfy had to bring the PLUSH version for Punky….so he can cuddle with that elf at night. Everyone knows Punky can’t touch the REAL Elfy or he will lose his magical powers which get him to fly to the North Pole each night to report to Santa. Punky named the plush elf, SHELFY. (Yes, how creative…the ELF on a SHELF.)
Elfy was a bit mischievous right of the bat while we were in Illinois…day 2 he ended up scaling the lamp above the kitchen table with toilet paper! Crazy Elf!
Day 3 found him enjoying goodies from Grandma Holly’s candy jar. Silly Elf!
Our last morning there, Elfy decided he needed a bath and we found him in the bathroom sink…in a “Bubble Bath!”
He made the trip home to Minnesota with us…and the next morning, we found him squeezed into…..
the kitchen cupboards…in a drinking glass! Elfy, you are sneaky!
This morning, Punky found Elfy at the computer…on FACEBOOK!
When we got to daycare this morning, Kelly told Punky that Elfy had sent her a message on Facebook! Kelly asked if Elfy could tell Santa that the daycare kids would love an “Elf!” Punky was beaming! So… tomorrow morning, Punky will awake to not one but TWO elves! Elfy will write a note explaining that his “friend” would like to go to Kelly’s house… Santa said he could go! I will post a picture to show you what crazy idea I can come with for this event!
Before I close, I have to share with you a pic of Punky that first morning…I caught him just mesmerized by Elfy… I love that smile!
So, a huge THANK you to my sister…who knew what fun this would be!!!! Love ya, Tabitha!
