Our Simple Pleasures

celebrating life one moment at a time

Dear Mr. Leno,

Does our society know the meaning of retirement anymore?  (I’m leaving a link to the definition in case you need a refresher!) You retired from “The Tonight Show.”  Then you were given a prime time slot at NBC.  Your show wasn’t too good…although I liked your interview with Kanye West after his Tayor Swift debacle.  NBC canceled your show.  They are letting you save face by just going into the Winter Olympics, a natural break in the regular broadcasting schedule.  Now, you want back on “The Tonight Show.”

Really?

You r-e-t-i-r-e-d! Retired.

Let Conan shine.   (I myself am not a Conan fan, although I will admit he is certainly an upgrade from you in that desk, but leave the poor man alone!)

How many other celebrities have had a tough time retiring?   Hmmmm.

  • Michael Jordan
  • Brett Favre
  • Roger Clemens
  • Ryne Sandberg
  • Lance Armstrong
  • Magic Johnson
  • Jay – Z
  • Garth Brooks
  • Barbra Streisand

Just to name a few.  I know there are several more.  Do you seriously want your name added to this list?

Make nice, leave quietly. If you want to work, find another outlet.   Don’t un-retire.  That’s so not cool.

Sincerely,
